President Optical Inc. charges significantly more than many other optical stores for the exact same contact lenses, even after discounts for long-term customers.

I had been buying my contact lenses here for several years. The twin owners are friendly and welcoming, which is why I confidently recommended many friends to this store.

After some friends mentioned better prices elsewhere, I compared the Johnson & Johnson daily disposable lenses I use. Their quoted price for loyal customers was about CAD 120 per month, while other stores in Aberdeen Centre charged under CAD 90, and some near the Richmond Olympic Oval offered the same product for as low as CAD 65 per month.

Since this is a standard product, the price gap was disappointing. I had been told I was treated like a friend and “not overcharged,” which made me comfortable recommending the store. I only hope my friends did not end up paying more because of my recommendation.

I do appreciate the friendly service and convenience over the years, but other stores offer the same product at much lower prices.

My advice is to compare before purchasing.
If price is not a concern or your needs are occasional, this may still be a good option. But for long-term or high-volume use, I’m sharing my honest experience so others can make a more informed choice.

I normally hate buying glasses but it was a pleasure this time. I didn’t feel pressure at all. And she gave me choices that fit with my style, wide head, and high prescription. Highly recommend for those who dislike the glasses buying experience too!

Barbara and Debra are two of the most energetic and knowledgeable people you will meet in the industry! They were exceptionally accommodating and helpful. I visited President Optical for help with my son’s contact lenses upon recommendation of a friend. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the warm and friendly service we have received. While trialing a pair of contacts, my son had issues with his correct application and removal of the contact in his right eye. I really appreciated the support and follow up regarding this issue.
